Alistair bounced down the stairs eagerly. He was still on a high from his morning’s activities but was also looking forward to working. When he had first started the job he’d never expected to enjoy it as much as he did. Waiting was only ever meant to be a stopgap, but even when his photography business had grown he’d found he didn’t want to give it up. Of course, being around Carey had a lot to do with that. Alistair had never let anyone else at the club fuck him. He had played with a few of the members, but only while Carey watched, and in the last few months they had been completely exclusive. It felt like the latest step to full-time had been the last on a long road of getting to know and understand each other.
Alistair had recognised his submissive nature early. He wasn’t like some of his friends who tried to deny it or resist its pull. He was comfortable with who and what he was. That didn’t mean that the journey had been easy—it had taken a great deal of trust to put himself in the hands of a Dominant, even a great one like Carey. Alistair felt blessed that he had found someone able to deal with his desire for independence alongside his need to submit. He laughed under his breath and acknowledged the fact that Carey being hot as hell also helped.
The club was buzzing with activity as he joined the waiters’ briefing. Harry and the other barman, Goran, and Christian, who handled front of house, were there too. They all needed to know what the specials were that day, anything that was off the menu and what the events of the week were in case of questions. Alistair listened out and scanned the room for Carey at the same time. He spotted him leaning on the end of the bar reading a newspaper with an intense look on his face. Alistair instantly felt more settled just knowing Carey was there.
The briefing finished and everyone started to head off to their various roles. Alistair grinned at Christian. “Ready for the madness?”
Christian’s dark red hair glinted as he nodded. “It’s going to be busy, it always is on a Friday. What did you do this time?” He gestured at Alistair’s cuffs.
Alistair shrugged. “You know Carey.”
“I do and he’s completely smitten. He checks up on you all the time.” Christian sounded a little wistful.
“Hey, you’ll find someone too…”
“I’m not down here wiggling my arse like you lot. It’s hard to get to know anyone when the extent of your conversation is ‘Good evening, Sir’.”
Alistair giggled. “You look stunning, Chris, and I know you get hit on all the time.” He took in Christian’s outfit of tight leather trousers and fitted black T-shirt then looked at his own clothes. “If you wore this get-up at reception you’d die from hypothermia. Still, I hope Carey makes you wear the bloody thong under there. I
